Shark Tank India’s Anupam Mittal Backs Ranveer Allahbadia And Samay Raina; Says They Are The ‘Victims’

Anupam Mittal, one of the judges on Shark Tank India, jumped into the heated controversy surrounding comedian Samay Raina and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia after their India’s Got Latent episode was pulled from YouTube on 19 February 2025 due to backlash over alleged offensive content. The episode’s removal followed public outcry and legal action, including FIRs filed against the duo, but Mittal argues the focus shouldn’t just be on them. On 21 February 2025, Mittal took to his official LinkedIn account to share his perspective, turning the spotlight on platforms like YouTube.

In his LinkedIn post, Mittal wrote, “Summon YouTube to the High Court too, why just Ranveer and Apoorva? See, what happened was messy, crass, and undeniably wrong. The statements & language used are totally unacceptable in any civilized society. But before we get all sanskari & load up our guns, let’s understand what the real issue is.”

He argued that Samay and Ranveer aren’t the sole culprits, suggesting they’re caught in a bigger system, saying, “I personally think Ranveer, Apoorva, Samay et all are actually victims caught in an endless cycle of provocation for their relevance & survival.” He further added, “Summon YouTube too… selective outrage is old India… equality under law should be non-negotiable,” urging accountability for tech platforms.

For those who don’t know, the uproar began when Samay Raina’s podcast episode featuring Ranveer Allahbadia drew complaints for its provocative remarks, prompting YouTube to act swiftly. Mittal, however, sees a broader issue, noting how platforms thrive on controversy. And he’s not alone – many on X chimed in, with one writing, “Fully agree with Anupam Mittal. YouTube should be held accountable too.” With no public response yet from Samay or Ranveer as of 21 February 2025, Mittal’s stance has ignited fresh debate about who’s really responsible in India’s evolving digital landscape.
