Bollywood actress Kiara Advani is currently enjoying her first pregnancy with husband Sidharth Malhotra. While she is awaiting the release of his film War 2, she will also be seen in Toxic. Well, amidst it all, it was recently reported that she has opted out of Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3 because of her pregnancy. It seems like the actress is in search of a project that will mark her comeback after the pregnancy. If media reports are to be believed, she will be playing the lead in Kumari’s upcoming biopic, which will be directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra.
Now the filmmaker has issued a clarification on the matter through a social media post. He took to his official social media on Tuesday and urged the media to avoid reporting on news which are not officially confirmed. Revealing the name of the film, Kamal aur Meena, he shared that the script of the film is ready. He added that he would like to officially announce the cast of the upcoming biopic.

Malhotra posted on his Instagram stories, quoted by the Free Press Journal, “Would appreciate for the media to avoid conjectures on the casting of ‘Kamal aur Meena’ the script has only gotten ready and as we have a cast and more…we will only be more than happy to officially announce it-until then request everyone to avoid conjectures until they hear officially from us. #kamalaurmeena.”
The media publication adds that a source close to the project has revealed that the makers of the film have approached Advani to “portray the legendary Meena Kumari in her upcoming biopic.” “The film’s director and creative team reportedly believe that Kiara is the perfect choice for the iconic role, given the emotional depth and the grace that the role demands. They have already narrated the script to the actress, and while Kiara is said to have loved the narration, she is yet to give her final nod,” they add.

For those who don’t know, the 33-year-old actress tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra in February 2023. The soon-to-be parents announced the good news through a sweet Instagram post in February 2025.. Fans and their fellow colleagues flooded their social media with congratulatory messages, showering them with immense love and admiration.
On the work front, Kiara Advani currently has Hrithik Roshan starrer War 2 and Yash starrer Toxic in her pipeline.
