Ghaati: Prabhas Unveils Trailer Of Anushka Shetty’s New Movie Full Of Raw, Rustic And High-Octane Action

The trailer for Anushka Shetty’s new film, Ghaati, was unveiled by Prabhas. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, this Telugu action-crime drama is set to release on September 5, 2025. The trailer showcases Anushka in a raw, intense role as Sheelavathi, a member of the Ghaati tribe, navigating the weed trade and seeking redemption after betrayal. Set on the Andhra-Odisha border, the film features high-octane action and emotional depth, with Vikram Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, and Chaitanya Rao in key roles.

The filmmakers described Ghaati as a story that “does not shy away from the brutal reality of the protagonist’s life.” Producer Rajeev Reddy said, “Ghaati is predominantly a crime action thriller and is an exploration of humanity, survival, and redemption. Anushka appears in a high-octane and action-packed performance.”

In an interview, Anushka expressed interest in a crossover with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, stating, “I really hope it happens. Someone please tell this to Sukumar sir. It would be exciting to see a crossover between Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and Ghaati. Bringing two characters from raw and rustic dramas together would be special. Hoping Sukumar garu comes up with something interesting. You know how superheroes do crossovers, we could also do this.”

She also spoke about working with Prabhas again, saying, “I genuinely wish to work with Prabhas once again. However, what I feel is that after Baahubali, it has to be something equally effective or something new. If both Prabhas and I like it, we will do it together.”

Anushka described the film’s premise, saying, “The subject is so apt for the present day. The story is set on the Andhra–Odisha border. It is about a tribe that grows weed. Things came out organically. How a woman named Sheela became a criminal, and how she redeemed her wrongdoings and emerged as a legend, is what the movie is all about.”

Produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, Ghaati has a U/A certification and a runtime of 2 hours and 37 minutes. Despite VFX delays, Rajeev Reddy noted, “We have been coordinating with multiple studios for VFX work, but unfortunately one of the studios couldn’t deliver the output on time. Ghaati will be very gripping and we wanted to do complete justice to the narrative and make it a superior product.” The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
