Doctor Calls Out ‘Science Illiterate Movie Celeb’ Samantha Ruth Prabhu For Selling ‘Fraud’ Anti-Ageing Supplements

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances. She recently took to her official social media handle to promote a supplement brand on Instagram. Liver Doc took to Instagram to call out the actress and slam her for promoting the supplement brand, which claims to contain NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide).

In a previous video shared by the actress, she shared that it helps boost NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) levels – a compound linked to energy and focus. Being the co-founder of the brand, Samantha also claimed in the promotional video that the NMN in the supplement is “over 99 per cent pure.”

Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known as The Liver Doc on social media, publicly slammed her. Sharing a screenshot of her post, he wrote on Instagram, “How science illiterate movie celebrities defraud their millions of followers by selling supplements that do not work at all.” Calling the supplement company a “fraud,” he warned his followers.

The caption of his post read, “Beware of snake oil salesmen, or snake oil saleswomen. They come in various sizes and forms. Be a well-informed consumer. Progress with science and evidence. Listen to real doctors.”

“BOTTOM LINE? If you want to age better, focus on the boring things that actually work diet, exercise, sleep, avoidance of alcohol and tobacco, vaccination. Not on a molecule that can’t even clear Phase 2 -quality evidence,” he concluded.

It is to be noted that Samantha Ruth Prabhu has yet to react to the Liver Doc’s harsh words. On the work front, through her production house Tralala Moving Pictures recently she produced her first film, Subham.
