The ongoing Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga discourse has become a talking point in the Hindi entertainment industry, with celebrities coming forward to weigh in their opinions on the actress’ demand for an eight-hour work shift after giving birth to her daughter. Actor Ali Fazal, who is enjoying the success of his recently released film Metro… In Dino, has now weighed in on the controversy and shared his opinion on the same.
Opening up about the same during an interview with the Indian Express’ SCREEN, Ali explained that he is “pro everybody being satisfied.” He went on to add, “At the end of the day, we are creators. This is not like a corporate job. No offence to them, but it is not. Creating things takes a lot of compassion. It needs to be mutually decided between actors, creators and technicians, ‘What is the displacement of the hours in that particular project?’.”

Fazal shared that sometimes, films and shows do not require much shooting time as it is “VFX-heavy,” however, others require more because they have action as well as drama. Mentioning that “genre changes the working style,” The 38-year-old actor said, “That’s the kind of industry we are in. You can’t put a template. This is all subjective. This is not for others to discuss and throw their opinions. It is harsh asking people to take sides. It is not fair.”
For those who don’t remember, the controversy between Deepika and Vanga made the headlines when it was heavily reported that the filmmaker had removed the actress for demanding an eight-hour work shift, being a new mother. After her exit from the film, the filmmaker cast Triptii Dimri in the Prabhas starrer. The filmmaker had made all sorts of allegations against her.
