Born in the same year, all the three Khans of Bollywood made a name for themselves in the Hindi entertainment industry. Having made their debuts around the same time, they amassed a huge fanbase for their acting performances. While Shah Rukh came to be known as the King of Romance, Salman became everyone’s beloved Bhaijaan dabbling between chocolate boy roles and an action hero. On the other hand, Aamir was termed as Me Perfectionist for his choice films and taking his time with them. Now, the latter has admitted that the trio considered each other’s rivals for quite some time.
During a recent interaction with the YouTube channel, Just Too Filmy, the 60-year-old actor revealed that there was a time when the Khans weren’t particularly fond of each other. When asked about the tension between them, during their early years in the industry, quoted by the Indian Express, he said, “Of course there was… What are you even asking? Each of us wanted to outpace the other two. Isn’t that what you call rivalry? So, that was there.”

While it all seemed like a friendly and healthy competition between the three, the Dangal actor shared that they often had fights as well. He added, “I think many of them have been well reported in the media as well.” Expressing how he is not sharing something new, Khan shared that they had disagreements. “But these things happen between friends, right? Be it in any relationship, there will be disagreements too along with the friendship,” he mentioned.
Further in the interview, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor emphasised that they have moved past the rivalry phase and now shared a warm friendship with each other. Indian Express quoted him saying, “It’s been 35 years since we got together. We were born in the same year, 1965, and made our debuts also more or less around the same time. Now, that rivalry is no longer there. I don’t think Shah Rukh, Salman or I even look at it that way now. Having journeyed together for 35 years, there is a sense of warmth and friendship between us, which has become more pronounced now than ever. We are much more comfortable with each other now.”

Despite their busy schedules, Aamir, SRK and Salman keep on meeting each other, leaving fans gushing about when they would work together. Talking about their past collaborations, Aamir and Salman were seen in the movie Andaz Apna Apna, a cult classic. Over the years, Salman and Shah Rukh have not only made cameo appearances in each other’s films, but were also co-leads of the movie Karan Arjun. Unfortunately, SRK and Aamir are yet to come together for a project on the big screens.
On the work front, Salman Khan will be next seen in Sikandar, set to release in a few days on Eid. Shah Rukh Khan will start shooting for his upcoming project King and Aamir Khan has Sitaare Zameen Par in his pipeline.
