Recently, Rahul Vaidya revealed that he declined a substantial offer of Rs. 50 lakh to perform at a wedding in Antalya, Turkey on 5 July. Vaidya emphasized that his decision was motivated solely by national interest, asserting that no amount of fame or money outweighs the priorities of his country.

In a conversation with Bombay Times, Rahul Vaidya stated, “The offer was lucrative- they were paying me Rs 50 lakh. But I told them that no work, no money, and no fame is bigger than the interest of the country. They even offered me more, but I made it clear that it wasn’t about the money. This issue is far more important than that. It’s not about me as an individual; it’s about the nation. And we have to stand by our nation.”
He further expressed his unwillingness to visit or work in a country he considers ‘an enemy’ of India and one that disrespects it. “Whatever I am today is because of my country and my fellow countrymen. Anyone who goes against the interests of my country and countrymen will not be entertained,” he stated.

Rahul Vaidya stressed that anyone opposing India is, by extension, opposing him. “Indians spend so much money in Turkey and give them enormous business by hosting weddings there. We give them revenue worth crores and this is how they respond? How can we continue spending money in a country that isn’t even loyal to us?” he questioned.
Meanwhile, just a few days ago, Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly also issued a passionate call to action, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “Can we please cancel our bookings for Turkey. This is my request to all Indian Celebs/Influencers/Travellers. This is the least we can do as Indians. #BoycottTurkey.”
