Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Team Slams ‘Fake’ Media Reports On L3: ‘They Are Entirely Untrue, Part Of Hate Campaign’

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently busy being showered in love and admiration for his performance in Kayoze Irani directorial Sarzameen. Amidst the promotions of the film, news stated circulated on social media that he made comments on his upcoming film Lucifer 3 (L3), starring Mohanlal. Several regional media portals claimed that during one of his recent interveiews, he opened up about the film and mentioned that L3 would be Indian cinema’s one of the “most expensive films.”

Now, his team has taken to their official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to issue a clarification on the matter. They explained that he hasn’t made any such comments. Calling out the “untrue” reports, they shared that the reports are a part of a “hate crime.” They clarified that the news started circulating the false news from a fake social media account.

Sharing screenshots of the posts, they wrote, “We express our disappointment in major channels for spreading false news claiming that Prithviraj Sukumaran made statements about the L3 movie. These reports are entirely untrue. We urge all media outlets to refer to the official interview videos from the Sarzameen promotions for accurate information.”

“It appears this misinformation originated from a fake profile ID as part of a hate campaign. We request all channels to cross-check facts before reporting and to republish corrected news to clarify the truth to the public and Prithviraj’s well-wishers. We expect a professional approach in handling this matter. Thank you,” they concluded.

To add to the previous point, the media reports claimed that Prithviraj in his interview shared that L3 will have “underwater action.” He reportedly went on to add that apart from Rick Yune’s Shenlong Shen, the upcoming film will also feature more villains. When asked if superstar Mammootty will headline the third part, the reports claimed that he refused to comment on it.

For those who don’t know, Sarzameen, set against the backdrop of a volatile Kashmir, follows the lives of Colonel Vijay Menon (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and his wife Meera (Kajol), who are living their life while grieving something. The appearance of Harman (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a young man struggling with shadowed memories and truths, brings chaos into their lives.
